2018-
The project #NSFW got started when I wanted to balance my commissioned shoots with something completely different. I originally got the idea for nude photos on t-shirts and prints after buying a shirt with a naked woman skateboarding on it during one of my sailing trips. While the t-shirt has by now been worn out, it gave me the idea to photograph naked people – to show their beauty on the one hand and flaws on the other. After the first nude photoshoot, I talked with the model and she told me that being photographed naked was an empowering experience and filled her with confidence about her body. These words were echoed by all the women I’ve photographed.
I soon realized that while we are all imperfect, and not too comfortable in our bodies, there are benefits to seeing yourself through someone else’s eyes, or lens in this case. I wish to show that everyone has beauty in their bodies and rather than being a flaw, slight imperfections make you unique and you should embrace these imperfections as a part of you…
